Archaelogical Museum

This museum is of mid 19th century origin. The building where it is installed, Renaissance pavilion, was constructed for the Exhibition of 1929, by Anibál González.

This museum has two floors:

On the ground floor we can see, in chronological order, material coming prehistoric sites within province. It is necessary to highlight the Treasure of the Carambolo, from the Tartessus period.

On the main floor there are exhibits from the Roman and subsequent periods. Most of these pieces come from the old city of Itálica. Of this period, it is necessary to emphasize the sculptures of emperors Trajano and Adriano (2nd century), in addition to other paintings of other emperors and members of their families.

The Museum of Vehicles is an initiative of the Real Club of Enganches of Andalusia, and was created for the purpose of presenting the world of the vehicle, and at the same time, a lost city as well as a live and rooted tradition as is the art of the carriage. 25 vehicles are under exhibition, almost all private property belonging to member of the RCEA. Various types can be appreciated here (galera, stock market carriages), carriages for urban public transport (omnibus, hansom cab), travel carriages (drag, carretela of trip), country (break, dog cart), of sport (faetón), as well as reproductions of period pictures associated to the city of Seville and the horse carriage.

The venue of this museum was constructed for the Exhibition of 1929, in style Mudejar style, by Anibál Gonzalez, and was then the pavilion destined to the Industrial Arts.

The museum was created in 1972, and occupies only a part the building, the rest is used as exhibition halls.

Palace of the Countess of Lebrija

This is a Renaissance-Mudejar palace, dating from the 16th century.

It is formed by the typical Sevillian house-palace, with its central courtyard and the galleries that form it. In the main courtyard we can admire one of the most beautiful Roman mosaics found in Itálica, from the 2nd and 3rd centuries as well as a magnificent collection of well curb stones, tinajas, and archaeological remains of various periods and cultures.

Equally, the rest of the rooms that compose the ground floor of this Museum, contain a rich collection of archaeological remains, only surpassed by the Provincial Archaeological Museum.

On the top floor we can visit the house of Countess de Lebrija, with its different rooms: halls, chapel, dining room, library, etc., as it was lived in by the family. They contain innumerable art work collections (decorated Spanish cabinets, paintings, sculptures, carpets, furniture, ceramics, etc.).

Regional Militar Museum

The Regional Military Museum inherited a large extent of the funds of the Old Arsenal of Artillery of Seville, and consequently, throughout the course of time, elements of military pyrotechnics and specialist training schools have been added, as well as others from different units, centres and organisms of the Southern Military District.
